Combination Play
Winning on a Combination Play ticket is the same as winning on a regular ticket – but because you have multiple sets of numbers, you can win multiple prizes.
You can play five-, seven-, eight- and nine-number Combination Plays.
Play up to 10 draws in advance.
Tickets are sold until 10:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) on draw nights.
You will receive a single ticket from the retailer that will show the combination numbers you've selected (e.g., five numbers for the five-number Combination Play). All possible combinations, however, will be recorded in the central computer.

HOW TO PLAY COMBINATIONS
On the LOTTO 6/49 - ONTARIO 49 Combination Play Selection Slip*, choose the game(s) you want to play: LOTTO 6/49, ONTARIO 49, or BOTH.
Mark the five, seven, eight or nine numbers from 1 to 49 you want to combine. The numbers will automatically be arranged into various combinations of six numbers.
To play ENCORE, mark the number of ENCORE plays you would like to add in the ENCORE play section box. Each ENCORE play added costs $1 and you can select up to 10 plays per draw.
If you want to play for more than one draw, mark the number of draws in the Advance Play box.
Six numbers and one Bonus number are drawn for the ONTARIO 49 draw. Match the numbers drawn to win.
You will receive a single ticket from the retailer that will show the combination play numbers you selected. All possible combinations, however, will be recorded in the central computer.
*The LOTTO 6/49-ONTARIO 49 Combination Play Selection Slip is different from the regular LOTTO 6/49-ONTARIO 49 Selection Slip.

When you choose a five-number Combination Play, the five numbers from 1 to 49 that you select remain consistent for every combination. The remaining 44 numbers are each, in turn, used as your 6th selection – giving you a total of 44 possible combinations for the draw.
For example, if you choose 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 as your five-number play

the 44 different combinations would be

…and so on until all possible 44 combinations are created from the original five numbers selected.
You will receive a single ticket from the retailer that will show the five numbers you selected.
When you choose a seven-number Combination Play the seven numbers from 1 to 49 you select are arranged in combinations of six numbers giving you seven unique sets of numbers for the draw.
For example, if you choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 as your seven-number selection, the seven combinations would be:

When you choose a nine-number Combination Play, the nine numbers from 1 to 49 you select are arranged in combinations of six numbers giving you 84 unique sets of numbers for the draw.
For example, if you choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 as your nine-number selection, the 84 different combinations would be:
